Funders & Partners

Shams is a charity (1132190). We seek revenue, project and in kind support from a number of different sources including Arts Council England, various Trusts/Foundations, corporate and individual donations to ensure its continuing development.

Shams currently receives all its funding on a project by project basis, with current funders being Arts Council England East and the Wellcome Trust for Reykjavík.

Shams was selected to be part of the Escalator East to Edinburgh showcase in August 2010 with Reykjavík. We are delighted to announce we have been selected again by the scheme to take Thin Ice to Edinburgh in August 2012. 

We are also grateful to South Street for offering two company residencies – including one with funding for the development of Reykjavík in 2009.

Previous supporters of the company’s work include the Unity Theatre Trust, BAC, the Jerwood Space, Arts & Business and Katherine Barton for Skills Bank, Leigh McKenna of Aberdeenshire Webdesign and IT4Communities, The Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Scottish Arts Council.
